Evergreen Notes

Evergreen notes are notes that stay alive.

They are not quick captures. They are not final essays. They are ideas that keep getting revised, linked, contradicted, returned to, and made more useful over time.

Start here if:

  • you have notes everywhere but cannot find the thread
  • you keep rediscovering the same idea
  • you want your thinking to accumulate
  • you need a way back into old rabbit holes
  • you want unfinished thoughts to still have value

For ADHD and multipotentiality, evergreen notes matter because attention moves.

If the system only works when you stay in one project, it will break.

Evergreen notes let a thought survive the gap.

What Makes A Note Evergreen

An evergreen note should have a point.

It can be rough, but it should be trying to say one useful thing.

Good evergreen notes are:

  • specific enough to be useful later
  • connected to other notes
  • allowed to change
  • small enough to reopen without dread
  • written for future return, not just present capture

Why This Matters Here

Rabbit holes can become messy fast.

Evergreen notes keep them from turning into a junk drawer. They give each trail reusable pieces: a concept, a pattern, a question, a connection, a source, a phrase worth keeping.

The goal is not to preserve every thought.

The goal is to preserve the ones that keep becoming useful.
